Kickstarter Project: Power Struggle for Smartphones

Tower defence meets classic MOBA for your smartphone. As a wave-based game and in classic versus.

So this week Game Geeks News are proud to bring you another amazing project currently running on kickstarter. Moritz, the founder of HEMO Games, is a young game developer trying to make dreams come true and inspire as many people as possible. Moritz is a fan of tower defence and MOBA games and came up with the idea, to combine these two genres.

Starting with the single-mode, which consists of defending your village by buying soldiers and sending them to a certain lane. They symbolise the Minnions in MOBA games, but unlike other MOBA games, they are controllable.

The goal is to survive as long as possible and to stop wave after wave of enemies. By not only sending out your soldiers but also upgrading them, like the towers and your citadel.

Champions do not exist in the classic single mode. They do, however, appear in multiplayer. In single mode, it’s all about stopping the enemies and protecting your village. The enemies spawn wave after wave from a portal, and every 10 waves there is even a boss which brings a new adventure. But it’s not just the enemies and bosses that bring adventure; all the maps are structured in such a way that there is always something to experience. The user interface is clear and simple so that even beginners will find it fun.

The game is to be released for smartphones and is also made for young people.

The idea behind “Power Struggle” is to develop innovation through two popular game models, which meet here.

In multiplayer mode, minions will continue not to spawn on their own, but will still have to be created, but they can be used individually. You can choose freely (provided you have enough gold) whether you buy a pikeman, archer, warrior or mage to defend your village. However, champions are now also added in multiplayer, which can be controlled as usual from other MOBAs and act as your own servants.

Here, 3 different champions are initially selectable, which support ranged and close combat. In the further course of the game (update), guilds will be added, which can also compete against each other. This opens up 2v2 / 3v3 and 5v5 modes to create great battles.

The whole thing can be selected in advance via the main menu which is very user-friendly.

The main menu is kept very simple and plain and its optical layout can be freely changed. Background pictures and frames can be bought with in-game gold. (However, only you can see the backgrounds). In addition, skins and avatars can be purchased in a shop alongside the background images and frames.

However, it is not only the gold that plays a role but also the levels, which come with experience points that you can get by playing single or multiplayer.

The higher your level, the more items you can buy. However, these only offer visual value. There is therefore NO pay to win!

The game is scheduled to release in August 2021. And from then on, additional features will gradually be added in the form of updates. New maps, new functions, fresh adventures to keep the game fun. Pledges start from as little as five euros which will get you early access to the game along with exclusive avatars, skins and backgrounds. Pledge a little more and you get to immortalise yourself with a special Easter egg of your choice.

At the beginning, there is “only” a single-player and a simple multiplayer. However, the introduction of guilds, guild chats, bonuses, achievements and guild battles are also planned. In addition, newer maps with additional bosses and events within the game. So that the whole game can be developed in outstanding quality and mature way. Among other things, Moritz will invest money to create recognisable characters for the champions and to put recognisable music behind the game, because the music of a game plays a big role. To pay wages to the people who have helped Moritz with this project and accompanied along the way. Additional assets for the game to create new maps in different environments (winter, desert, etc.). To cover the costs that this project entails. Like program (tools), equipment to develop the game easier and better.

The plan was also to invest some money in advertising so that the launch of the game would go smoothly. There is nothing worse than being a player waiting for another player because there are just too few players online.

Some money will also go towards upgrades of skins and individuality of Minions.

So that there are always new stimuli for the player to play something. Some variants already exist, but many more are planned. However, since Moritz does not do these himself, he will of course also be remunerated.

As Moritz is highly motivated, he hopes backers will support the development of this project to its full potential. Moritz has already completed several projects, but this is the first time working on his own project. Should Moritz succeed in this project and also reach the number of players he has set his sights on, he hopes to tackle more games!

Risks and challenges:
Fortunately, there are no major risks. Moritz has prepared himself very well and thought through almost everything. From planning the game to developing it to distributing it. If the project is unsuccessful with Kickstarter, the game will occasionally take a little longer to blossom into its full glory.
