Kickstarter Project: Ecoser

A survival-simulation game where you must coexist with your environment.

So this week Game Geeks News are proud to bring you another amazing kickstarter project currently in the pipeline. Adam Stankiewicz, from Indianapolis is a computer programmer just starting his very own studio and needs our help to fund this survival SIM project. Adam hopes to release a beta version of the game by December 2022.

Ecoser is an ecosystem driven survival-based game where you, the player, are born into one of the many cultures of Ecosia as one of the native people, known as Eepers. As an Eeper, you are raised in and taught the ways of thriving within the environment you live in. Your long term goal is to learn how to build up your own living culture while not causing too much damage to the ecosystem around you, such as making sure that animals you hunt for food do not become extinct, replanting trees so as to not cause deforestation, and building your town in environmentally friendly ways. All the while you are going to be struggling against nature itself, as more aggressive wildlife, depending on your region, will be coming after you if you delve too far into their territory, especially underprepared.

In the early hours of your time in Ecosia you will mostly be learning from your starting culture, which is randomly generated when you begin a new game. They will teach you about the environment around you and how to properly coexist with both flora and fauna.you will learn how to build shelters, capture and domesticate animals, gather resources and defend yourself when necessary. Your goal in Ecoser is not to dominate the world, but merely to coexist with the environment and sustain yourself without destroying that around you.

In Ecoser, your actions have consequences. For example, let’s say you have been harvesting trees from one part of the forest without thinking about the consequences, such as not replanting the seedlings. Long term this will begin to form deforestation attributes, such as animals fleeing the forest, trees taking longer to grow, and predators being more prevalent.

Rewards for backing this project include a copy of Ecoser with access to group calls with the developers, Special Edition T-shirts, Signed Limited Edition copies of the game, A Character named after you and even VIP ACCESS which includes access to test files before anyone else.
