So this week we are proud to bring you another amazing kickstarter project currently available as a demo here. Reaper’s Remorse is a 2D role-playing game where you play as a reaper. This game will take you on an emotional roller-coaster with comedic companions, a tragic past, and a dark mystery to uncover! Go on a journey filled with unique characters and soundtrack.
Jessica Devitt, the creator of the game said: “an enormous amount of this game has been done by myself. A few artists have been commissioned for character design, music and battle background art”.
All the funds raised will be used to help produce the game and make improvements to the design.
Jessica has set a target release date of July 2023. However, because she is doing most of the work on her own, development may take time. Jessica is working to release this game as soon as possible with the best quality provided.
Rewards for supporting this kickstarter include a digital download of the game upon release, Your name will be added in the credits, a digital download of the game’s soundtrack, a key chain of one spirit (image above), your choice of colour or a 1.75” metallic pin of either the mysterious symbol or an hourglass.
About Reaper`s Remorse:
A young girl with half of her soul taken by a demon is now stuck in a space inhabited by the dead. She has been taken in and trained by reaper. Now the day has come for her to face her demons and get back what she has lost to return home.
Her journey takes a dark turn when reapers start disappearing, and powerful new demons bearing a strange symbol start appearing and causing mass premature deaths. Team up with the few remaining reapers to take down the impending threats before it is too late.
Gameplay:
As a reaper you will have a wide variety of things you can do!
Collect Souls:
Help spirits pass on to the other side. However, some spirits have a last request and will not go with you until you complete it, but do not ignore them for too long or another reaper might swoop in and take the spirits for themselves! Passing on a soul will give you soul essence which reapers accept as currency.
Unseen by humans:
Enjoy the luxury of being invisible to humans by listening in on their private conversation or going through people’s personal belongings. Perhaps you may steal a thing or two!
Look into the minds of others:
Reapers have many abilities; one is being able to look into a person’s mind and see their strongest memory. Looking into the right minds could provide some useful information!
Recruit Allies:
As you travel through the world you can make friends with other reapers and have them join you on your adventure!
Combat:
Battle demons in a turn-based combat system with a party of up to 4 members. Defeating demons will help you gain experience and recover any souls they have devoured!
Wield multiple elemental powers:
You can buy new skills by spending soul essence. Not only will these skills help you in battle, but if you use the right skill you can clear blocked paths and open secret areas.
Investigations:
Just like a wing cannot fly with one feather, you cannot learn the truth with just one piece of evidence. Launch investigations to find clues and gather evidence to find the truth and change the potential outcome of the story.
