As usual, to make things interesting for the new season, Activision has decided to implement a new mini-game for its hit battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone by introducing the Mini Royale in Season 5. In previous updates, Activision had given us the Juggernaut Royale, Realism Royale and Stimulus Royale.
For those of you interested in the Season 5 Battle Pass and haven’t gotten it yet, make sure you get your PSN Cards and your life together and get that Battle Pass. Mini Royale is essentially a shorter and faster-paced version of the actual game. Players will be
divided into 35 teams, two to three players per team and will have to battle it out. It seems that reaching Victory Royale just got a whole lot harder, so we’re swooping into the rescue with some tips and tricks to help you ace the game.
Let’s get to it!
What is Mini Royale:

As briefly mentioned in the introduction above, it is a condensed version of the actual game. Everything will still be in play – vehicles can be used, bunker key cards are available and loot weapons are everywhere.
Everything is faster-paced, so you would have to continuously be on the move and not linger too long on one thing. As there will be Loadout Drops, make sure to pick the right ones that cater to your playstyle and useful ones like the Ghost class perk and preferably an upgraded weapon.
Note that the Loadout Drops will always drop in-zone, so get in position!
Landing Spots:

As usual, your landing spot is crucial to the game as it determines whether you survive within the few minutes you land or get shot immediately. Landing spots depend on your playstyle but the obvious choice is to avoid areas which are heavily populated, whilst keeping in mind the direction of the gas circle as it will grow smaller.
If anything, choose spots where there are more contracts for you to pick up so that you can earn more rewards and benefits which will help you as you go along. Be aware of your surroundings as you go in for the drop and if you notice that a lot of players are headed for the same spot as you are, change your direction immediately. Another thing to take note is the availability of contracts, vehicles and other distance from the circle if you’re planning to drop outside the circle. It’s entirely possible to land far from the circle and keep the possibility of encountering an enemy team low. However you need to keep an eye for the gas and have a backup plan ready or it’ll get overwhelming if the gas is too close to your squad.
Simply put, avoid contact with others until you’re fully equipped and ready to fight them off.
Coordinate With Your Team:

Remember, teamwork makes the dream work. Just like all the relationship cliches,
communication is key. Communicate with each other as you go along with the help of your
headset mic for a more coordinated game play. Make sure you have a plan or strategy in place and a designated role for each other if you need one. A backup plan is not a bad thing to have either for when things go wrong. Ensure that everyone is in a loose formation to avoid getting teamwiped with a single RPG shot. This formation also helps in repositioning quickly if your team gets attacked.
It’s relatively easier for a group to pinpoint enemies and protect each other rather than one
person doing it on their own. Actively ask your teammates if they need any assistance or
supplies and help them. Pinpoint enemy locations by pinging or using the compass. Remember to ping everything when calling something out so everyone in the team knows what is going on. This also includes pinging the enemy that downed you so that your teammate can come over and rescue you from getting the final blow.
Heartbeat Sensor:

A heartbeat sensor does exactly as its name suggests, it detects heartbeats. This is an
important gadget to have, for you to be able to detect another person within range. Of course, you wouldn’t find it just laying around in-game so make sure you already have it equipped in your Custom Loadout Drop so that when the Loadout Drop arrives, you could easily pick it out.
However, this sensor only works on those who do not have the Ghost perk on them so keep in mind that you still have enemies lurking around you. Don’t rely on it as your primary source, but as a backup tool as you go along.
Beware of The Gas:

As you go on with the game, killing other players and hiding from some, you might forget the other deadly thing creeping up from behind you until it’s too late – the gas. Remember to take note of the gas timer at the top left of your screen, check it every minute or so to avoid a meaningless death.
Another tip would be to have your back to the gas as you move forward, it’s a no brainer cause the gas will be behind you and you don’t have to worry about anyone sneaking up behind you because they’ll either be dead or running away from the gas. Now, your main focus would be on those in front of you, which is a huge plus – one less thing to worry about!
Finish Your Contracts:

As mentioned under Landing Spots, finding contracts could help you progress through the game – but this is all a choice after all, based on your preferred playstyle. If you’re a seasoned player, you would be well accustomed to the different contracts there are: the Bounty, Recon and Scavenger Contracts.
The Recon and Scavenger Contracts are the easiest to accomplish, whereas the Bounty
Contract would be harder but rewarding in its usefulness. In short, Recon contracts would
involve a sort of ‘capture the flag’ mechanic, a flare will alert enemies of your position as you attempt to capture your objective. Scavenger Contracts are basically a scavenger hunt for supplies for you and your team. Bounty Contracts are a headhunt for a certain enemy player or team.
Another solid reason to complete these contracts is that you would be given a glimpse ahead of the future circle, aside from the loot, XP and cash rewards of course. The more contracts you complete, the more rewarding it gets.
