At the end of last month, the company Hobonichi Shinbun (owned by Mother series’ creator Shigesato Itoi) launched the ‘Hobonichi Mother Project’ – promising “various contents and goods” before the end of 2020.
Now, in the latest update, the Pollyanna tribute comic has been revealed. According to a translation on the EarthBound subreddit, the comic and illustrations in it were handled by 35 manga artists and writers. One of the individuals who worked on it is Toby Fox (Undertale). Here’s a look:
The comic (including a bonus sticker sheet) will be available for ¥2,640 on 11th June from the Hobonichi store. It will go on sale at other retailers within Japan on 25th June. One last thing worth pointing out is how the trailer says “to be continued” at the end – meaning more Mother-related announcements can be expected.
