Fans are growing tired of Call of Duty’s repetitive events, as some players say they are “lazy.”
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone players aren’t happy with the shooter’s new collaboration with Ballerina, blasting it as the “worst event so far.” The John Wick spin-off is celebrating its theatrical release with a new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 event, featuring some limited-time cosmetic items, double XP tokens, and more. Unfortunately, fans appear to be growing tired of the repetitiveness of Call of Duty’s continued collaborations and events.
Ballerina is just the latest in a long line of Call of Duty collaborations, as Black Ops 6 has already featured numerous crossovers with the likes of Squid Game, The Terminator, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and many more. While these events often bring new cosmetic items and weapons for players to obtain, they are regularly criticized by players for being repetitive, lackluster, and sometimes incredibly expensive.
Call of Duty Fans Aren’t Happy With the New Ballerina Event
Call of Duty’s new Ballerina event doesn’t appear to have bucked that trend, as it has once again sparked controversy among players. The event only kicked off on Thursday, June 5, but it didn’t take long for fans to take to social media to express their disappointment. Reddit user dankahhh called it the “worst event in Black Ops 6 so far,” while ElemWiz said the event seems “lackluster” and also critiqued the new Ballerina operator skin, calling it “bland.”

Plenty of other players seem to agree, as the repetitiveness of each Call of Duty event appears to be taking a toll on the community. User Knautical_J said they are “so sick of the ‘collect these arbitrary tokens’ events,” while Evenspace- blasted them as “lazy” and said it is “just the same thing” every single time. For those who might be unaware, many of Black Ops 6’s events require players to collect some form of tokens in either Multiplayer, Zombies, or Warzone. They can then be exchanged for rewards during the event.

This seems to be the latest disappointment to come out of Call of Duty’s latest season, as the content update made a massively controversial change to Black Ops 6 and Warzone’s create-a-class system. Shortly after the update was released, fans noticed that there were now advertisements in the game’s create-a-class. This meant that fans were being greeted with store bundles whenever they wanted to alter their weapons, and they weren’t happy about it.
Many called the feature “shameless” and “greedy,” but it didn’t take long for Activision to backtrack on the advertisements and claim that it was a test published in error, but many fans refused to believe that this was a genuine mistake.
