ORIGINAL:  developer Blizzard has unveiled a whole host of new skins for the Lunar New Year of the Pig event launching this week.

The 2019 Lunar New Year event has been given a January 24 launch date by Blizzard.

As with all Overwatch events, the Year of the Pig extravaganza runs for roughly three weeks, ending on February 18.

As fans count down to the event, Blizzard has unveiled a selection of new skins coming soon.

In a series of tweets, Blizzard has revealed the Lu Bu Reaper skin, the Huang Zhong Hanzo outfit and the Guan Yu Reinhardt costume.

Blizzard will continue to reveal more skins in the run up to the big event on Thursday.

In the meantime, you can take a look at the skins below and at the top of the page.

Older skins will return at a cheaper price point when the event launches.

With the Lunar New Year event make a comeback, players can expect to see the return of a fan-favourite game mode.

Capture the Flag is almost certain to make a return with a brand new map to accompany it.

“In Capture the Flag, teams face off, attempting to secure the enemy flag while the opposing team does the same,” reads the official Blizzard description.

Last year saw the introduction of Competitive Capture the Flag, complete with its own set of rewards.

The 2018 Lunar New Year event also introduced new Capture the Flag gameplay tweaks.

Flag pick-ups became instant, there was a five second delay when dropped and sudden death was introduced.

“When time runs out, the round starts over, the flags are moved closer to the center of the map, and the first team to capture wins.”

Blizzard is almost certain to make more changes for this year’s event, so stay tuned for more information.
